You can always count on a fashionably good time during the red carpet of any event and last night was definitely no exception. The stars were certainly shining bright on some of our favorite celebs as they gathered on the red carpet at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. So I’m taking a quick look at some of the slayage which took place on the carpet Sunday night. Catch a peek at a few of my faves below:
While most of the ladies chose to rock sleek and classic ensembles in hues of black or white, the winner of the 2014 Icon Award decided to stop traffic in a gawgeous red gown from Donna Karan’s Fall 2014 Collection. Talk about head to toe perfection! From the hair…down to the shoes, I loved her entire look. Godmother Lopez has definitely been killing the fashion scene lately and I’m here for it all!
I was so happy to see that Nicki was still rocking ‘Au Naturale.’ I’m really loving this whole back to basics vibe that she has going on right now. Nicki chose a beautiful Alexander McQueen gown, added a few pieces of Lanvin jewelry and allowed her ensemble to speak for itself. The only thing that I did not care for was the slight peek at her under boobage.
The newly minted Mrs. Tim Witherspoon hit the carpet looking absolutely ‘Ah-Mazing!’ Married life certainly agrees with the ‘Kisses Down Low’ singer. Kelly was simply glowing and the hair, black two piece, accessories and her body was so on point.
Kendall & Kylie Jenner
Another of my favorite looks of the evening came courtesy of the beautiful Jenner girls. These ladies have no doubt inherited their big sisters sick fashion sense. Kendall wore a stunning white & blue jumpsuit from the Olcay Gulson 2014 collection paired with a metallic Jimmy Choo clutch & heels. While her sister Kylie kept it just as stylish in a white Alex Perry spaghetti strap dress and a sexy pair of Christian Louboutin ‘Impera’ heels. Total wins for both ladies!
Shakira stepped out on the carpet and gave me life in this beautiful eye-catching body baring blue dress! I love how it shows us what she’s working with, yet still leaves a lot to the imagination. Not to mention that her body is truly a ridiculous work of art.
Carrie was a stunner in her Oriett Domenech lime green gown with the intricate grey embroidered bodice. This is so not a color that I would’ve even thought to look at, so I’m definitely digging the bold fashion choice.
Rocsi was also doing her thing and serving sexy in this little black dress from Cushnie et Ochs. The former ‘106 and Park’ host has really stepped up her fashionable game since she’s been out on the West Coast and she’s quickly becoming one of my favorites on the red carpet.
Okay, now Ms. Jordin tried it with this look. I’m going to say ‘yes to the Michael Costello dress,’ because it looked absolutely flawless on her svelte figure. However, the cornrows are a big no-no for me. Maybe she was trying to channel Rihanna and her round-the-way girl hairstyles, but I’m just not feeling this look on her. I’m still going to give Jordin an A+ for taking a fashionable risk. I can certainly co-sign to that!
Wiz Khalifa & Amber Rose
You can always count on these two to give us something to look at. Wiz has the cool rapper-rocker chic down to a science and I’m loving Amber’s ‘too cool for school ‘ vibe right here. I knew it was only a matter of time before the hipsters put their own spin on Donald Sterling’s ‘silly rabbit’ aka (V. Stiviano) and her infamous visor. Yet, this look really works for Amber.
Chrissy Teigen & John Legend
Chrissy & John have become one of my favorite couples to grace the red carpet. I love how they always manage to to compliment each other in the style department and it really works for them. I also loved the way Chrissy rocked this bold strapless mini-dress by Fyodor Golan. The heavy bangs, simple accessories and pumps all work in her favor.
Well, that pretty much sums up my version of events.
So, what do you think about my ‘Best Look’ selections? Did any of your faves make the cut? Were these looks Nautie! or not….
