Hey ladies. We all know that a good shoe can make or break an outfit or instantly provide a boost in your mind. You’ve probably heard of the term “shoegasm” or experienced the “THESE.SHOES.GIVE.ME.LIFE” syndrome when passing by a beautiful shoe collection. Well, guess what? When you slip on what you consider a so-called “gorgeous” shoe, might actually be a man-repellent. A recent Huffington Post article released a survey indicating that the number one shoe style that men find the least attractive are Wegdes! The dislike for wedges was respectively followed by Uggs then Crocs.
I don’t know about you, but I love a good wedge shoe. In spite of what some men may think, a wedge is definitely a comfortable and stylish alternative than let’s say a 6″ stiletto. At the same time, just like in life, everything has a time and place. When it’s “bedroom sexy-time,” nothing but a stiletto will do. Going to the grocery store, park or museum, a wedge, ballet flats or sneakers would suit just fine.
Now some of you may think the survey is completely shallow. But us women certainly judge men based on their style of shoe. A man with sandals and socks is a big no-no. A man with shoes and no socks might also get a side-eye. Similarly, a man with run-down shoes, gets no attention at all.
So will this survey force us to throw out our trusty espadrilles and ankle-strapped wedges? I’m pretty sure it won’t. So the next time you’re walking down the street wearing your sexy, body-hugging sundress with your sky-high wedges, please let me know if it prevents a man from approaching you. After all, if his only complaint is that your wearing a wedge shoe–I’m pretty sure that’s not the type of man you want.
What do you think of the survey? Were you surprised that wedges topped the list for being the least attractive for a man?
