“Baby, Baby, Baby..I got so much love in me“….You know I’m singing while I write this post, right? I just viewed the VH1 teaser for the upcoming TLC biopic “Crazy Sexy Cool,” and I’m actually really excited about this. TLC was hands down “the ultimate” girl group that reigned supreme in the 90’s, and damn sure friends in my head. I danced my behind off to every song, copped every 99 cent single and their CD’s, and my sister and I would watch their videos for hours!! Safe to say that we were fans..huh?
Well, Kudos to VH1 for this movie because it is definitely a long time overdue. T-Boz, Left Eye and Chili definitely deserve to be recognized and honored for their contributions to the industry. They have certainly paved the way for so many of the artists that we’re able to enjoy today, so its only right to reach back and show the story of who it all began with. I am also very impressed with the cast. We have Drew Sidora (BET “The Game“) as Tionne “T-Boz“ Watkins, rapper and television personality Lil Mama (MTV ABDC) as Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, and KeKe Palmer (Akeelah And The Bee) as Rozonda “Chili” Thomas. Now, from the looks of the trailer it appears these ladies really tried to step up to the plate and knock it out the park with their performances. Their facial expressions, movements and attitudes all reminded me of the “Crazy Sexy Cool” ladies of TLC. However, TLC was legendary and the fans are not going to go for any half stepping. They will tear this movie apart if its not up to par, so VH1 better come correct with this.
Check out the teaser below and let me know what you think. Will you be watching?
